It took months for Grandfather, Paul Robert de Gaston, and Grandmother, Cleona Alvenia de Gaston, to craft Dad's beautiful name; meanwhile he was affectionately called "Oompah". Picture at right is Dad at about 2 1/2 years of age (Boy did Grandmother de Gaston love those curls!
